Frequently Asked Questions

Scope, pricing, contracts, coverage and ownership, answered straight. Service-specific questions are on each service page; these are the ones that come up whatever the job.

Working with AyalaKi Services

What areas do you cover?
Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano and the surrounding Dallas-Fort Worth metro, including Dallas and Tarrant counties and the inner parts of Collin and Denton counties. For somewhere at the outer edge, call and ask rather than assume: travel time changes the arithmetic on a small job and it is better to say so before you plan around it.
Is there an office or showroom I can visit?
No. This is a service-area business, not a storefront, so there is no showroom and no address listed on this site. All work happens at your building, which is also where a quote gets produced.
What are your hours?
No fixed hours are published, because stating ones that turn out not to hold is worse than not stating them. The reliable way to reach the business is to call (214) 290-5914 or send a message through the contact form, and you will get a reply with a realistic time.
Do you work with homes, businesses and churches?
All three. They are genuinely different jobs: a home is mostly about routing cable neatly and getting coverage where it matters, a business adds fire-code cable ratings, retention requirements and access control, and a church is as much about who has to operate the system on a Sunday as about the system itself.
Can you help plan a network before I buy anything?
Yes. Network design consultation is exactly that: help planning a home or small business network before you buy or install it, covering what the network has to do, how many wired positions the building needs, where the central equipment should live and where wireless has to reach. Equipment configuration is the other end of the same job, setting up and configuring the equipment so it works properly on the network. Either can be wanted on its own, without the other.
How do I get started?
Describe the building and the problem, by phone or through the form. You will get a straight answer about whether it is work we do, then a free site visit, then a written scope and a quote. Nothing is quoted before the building has been seen.

Pricing and quotes

Why is there no price list on this site?
Because the cost of this work is dominated by the cable path rather than the equipment, and the cable path is a property of your building. A price list would either be so wide as to be useless or so narrow as to be wrong. What is published instead are cost guides explaining what drives the price, with third-party figures attributed and linked.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who will. A number given before anyone has seen the ceiling, the wall construction and the equipment position is a number that moves once work starts. The site visit is free precisely so the quote can be accurate.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, across the covered area, and there is no obligation attached to it. If the outcome is that the job is not worth doing, or that someone else is better placed to do it, that is a legitimate outcome of a visit.
What makes two quotes for the same job differ so much?
Usually the amount of cable work being planned, and what each quote excludes. Two companies quoting the same four cameras can differ substantially because one is routing neatly through an attic and terminating on a patch panel while the other is surface-mounting trunking. Ask both what is excluded and the gap normally explains itself.
Do you charge for travel?
Not for a site visit inside the covered area. On a small job at the far edge of the metro, travel can affect the overall cost, and if that applies it is stated in the quote up front rather than appearing later.

Equipment, ownership and contracts

Do I have to sign a monitoring contract?
No. AyalaKi installs and configures systems you own outright. There is no monitoring contract, no required subscription to use your own recorder, and no situation where access to your own footage depends on a relationship with an installer.
Who owns the equipment and the admin credentials?
You do, and the credentials are handed over in writing at the end of the job along with the documentation. A system you cannot administer is a system you do not really own, and that is worth confirming with any installer you hire.
Can you work with equipment I already have?
Usually. Existing cameras, switches, access points, speakers and displays get assessed on whether they can do what you need, and get reused when they can. Where something has to be replaced you are told what and why before the work is quoted.
Do you provide alarm monitoring?
No. That is a separate business run by monitoring companies with a central station, and it is not something AyalaKi offers or takes a commission on. A camera or access system installed here works perfectly well alongside a monitoring contract you hold with someone else.

Scope and limits

What do you not do?
Alarm monitoring, electrical work that requires a new circuit, structural work and rigging engineering, drywall finishing and decorating, and music or streaming licensing on a client's behalf. Where a job needs one of those, it is flagged at the quote stage and goes to the right trade.
Will the installation damage my walls?
Cable work means penetrations at the equipment positions and where cable enters the building, and those positions are agreed with you before anything is drilled. Routes are planned through attics, ceiling voids and crawl spaces to keep what has to be opened to a minimum. Making good is limited to the penetrations made.
Do I need a permit?
Low-voltage cabling in an existing building generally does not involve the same permitting as electrical work, but anything requiring a new circuit does, and commercial fit-outs can have their own requirements through the city. If a job needs a permit or an electrician, you are told before the quote rather than after work starts.
Can one visit cover more than one service?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper. Cameras, access points, meeting room drops and data outlets run back to the same place through the same ceilings. Doing them together is one set of cable routes and one mobilization rather than several.

About the business

Why are there no reviews or testimonials on this site?
AyalaKi Services is a new company and has no published customer reviews yet. Rather than fill the space with something unverifiable, the site says so plainly. When there are real reviews with real names attached, they will appear here.
Are the photographs on this site of your own work?
No, and they are labeled that way on the pages they appear on. They are licensed stock photographs chosen to show the kind of equipment involved. Space is reserved on every service page for photographs of real installations once those exist.
Who writes the guides in the resources section?
Joe Kiemtore, who runs the business and does the work. Every figure quoted in those guides comes from a named source that is linked, with its publication date where the source gives one. The editorial policy sets out the standards in full.
